Considering the above, when you select a multilingual (e.g. Arial Unicode MS) or bilingual font (e.g. SaiIndira) from the fonts list of an editor (e.g. MS Word) and start typing, you can type in English only and NOT in Tamil. If you wish to type in Tamil, then you need* a software like Azhagi/Azhagi+ up and running or you need any other tool/utility/mechanism - which will display the Tamil characters from that multilingual/bilingual font.

- Open the app from the app drawer.
- On the app’s main screen, tap on the “Enable in settings” button.
- Enable the Google Indic keyboard by choosing the checkbox next to the “Google Indic Keyboard.” (on some Android phones, you could see the “Switch on/off button instead of the checkbox)
- Then, tap the “Select Input Method” button on next screen, and choose the “English & Indic Languages” keyboard.
- On the next step, select the “Accept” checkbox if you agree to send anonymous usage statistics to Google, or ignore it and swipe left.
